WINNOW

Winnow is a website that tags and filters content according to your interests. Tags are a very flexible way of organizing information because each piece of content can be given any number of tags. And Winnow's tags are smart — each tag finds more items that fits its category, once you've given Winnow a few examples.

With your help Winnow tags and filters a collection of about 250,000 items harvested over the last three months from about 2,500 blog feeds. We encourage you to add feeds that interest you. Every night Winnow harvests and tags the new items from all its feeds, and archives the items that are three months old.

Winnow is the demonstration environment for the autotagging classifier engine built by Peerworks. This engine can work on any collection of text items. We plan to make the engine available as open source in the fairly near future. Contact us if you would be interested in using the engine in a software package or website, or if you would like to work with us to enhance our statistical classification technology.
